David Crawford, MD

Dr. Crawford is an internationally recognized expert in prostate cancer, benign prostate hypertrophy (BPH) and other urologic cancers. He is an expert in the field of precision diagnostic measures for prostate cancer, including 3D Prostate Cancer Biopsy and minimally invasive treatment options such as Targeted Focal Cryotherapy.
Dr. Crawford has been practicing Urology for over 30 years and is the distinguished endowed professor of Surgery, Urology, and Radiation Oncology, and Head of the Section of Urologic Oncology at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado. He also serves as the practice director for the Urologic Oncology clinic.
Dr. Crawford received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati. His postgraduate training included an internship and residency in urology at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati. Subsequently he completed a genitourinary cancer fellowship at the University of California Medical Center in Los Angeles. The recipient of more than 95 research grants, he has conducted research in the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer, metastatic prostate cancer, hormone refractory prostate cancer, other prostate conditions including BPH, advanced bladder cancer and other areas of urologic infections and malignancies.

Francisco La Rosa, MD, FCAP
For more than 20 years Dr. La Rosa has been a Board Certified pathologist and academician with special training in the sub-specialty of Uro-Pathology. As a Teaching Scholar, he has taught hundreds of medical students, residents and fellows at the University of Colorado. He is very active in the international medical community and is President of the Ibero-American Association of Telehealth and Telemedicine, along with many other leadership positions including Honorary Professor at the National University “Federico Villarreal” in Lima, Peru, Editorial Board Member of the International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Pathology and Laboratory Inspector Leader of the College of American Pathologists.
Dr. La Rosa has a deep interest in our unique prostate mapping biopsy procedure and was instrumental in establishing its validity for accurate staging of early disease. Dr. La Rosa is the main pathologist reviewing most prostatic tissues obtained from our patients, including biopsies and whole prostatectomy specimens, and he is an invaluable resource in our weekly Second Opinion Urologic Cancer Conferences.
Clifford Jones, DDS
Dr. Jones received his dental degree from UCLA in 1977 and then practiced restorative dentistry in Phoenix Arizona for the next 24 years. He was one of the first dentists to utilize the new and exciting phase of implant dentistry in his practice and he was actively involved in several aspects of organized dentistry including many years as a member and chairman of the Peer Review Committee. In a complete change of pace, Dr. Jones and his wife moved to Colorado to be near their son and his family and Dr. Jones joined Dr. Crawford’s prostate cancer team. He helps manage several prostate cancer clinical trials and works closely with our patients who are interested in 3D prostate cancer biopsies and targeted focal cryotherapy for their prostate cancer.
Paul Arangua, B.S.

Paul is a study coordinator at the University of Colorado and has been part of numerous studies including The Application of Targeted Focal Cryotherapy for the Treatment of Organ Confined Prostate Cancer, The Injection of Botulinum Toxin for the Treatment of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia, Salvage Cryotherapy Online Registry Evaluation, and several other investigator initiated studies. Currently, Paul works closely on several self-designed, investigator initiated quality of life studies on various prostate and testicular cancer patient cohorts. He has extensive experience using REDcap to design databases and automated-distribution survey instruments. Recently, he has designed an iPad compliant quality of life survey for all 3D prostate cancer biopsy patients. Paul has extensive experience with the ProView software platform, which he uses to perform real-time 3D reconstruction in patients during 3D prostate cancer biopsy. His special interests include database design and data analysis, study design, clinical epidemiology, and minimally invasive prostate cancer diagnostic and treatment procedures including 3D prostate cancer biopsy and Targeted Focal Cryotherapy.
Wendy Poage, MHA

Wendy Poage earned her Bachelor of Science degree at the Colorado State University in 1993 and her Masters of Health Care Administration at Webster University in 1997. Wendy has been the President of the Prostate Conditions Education Council since 1998 and the Administrator of Urologic Oncology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center for over ten years.
